Bahrain hires consultants for new exhibition and conference centre

Bahrain has appointed consultants to work on plans for a new exhibition and conference centre in Sakhir, close to the Formula 1 race track.
Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, who attended the signing of the deal to hire Tilke, said the project is key to attract and develop the international exhibitions industry in the kingdom.
The centre will be built on a plot of about 308 thousand square metres next to the Bahrain International Circuit. It will include 10 exhibition halls with a total area of 95,000 sq m and will also feature areas dedicated for retail and events.
The conference centre will include a 4,500 sq m conference hall which can be divided into three separate halls equipped with state-of-the-art display and technical services.
It will also includes 27 small and medium conference and meeting rooms with a total area of about 1,700 sq m.
